New International Trailer for ‘Carrie’ Starring Chloe Moretz & Julianne Moore
Screen Gems has released a new international trailer for Kimberly Peirce’s “Carrie” remake starring Chloe Moretz & Julianne Moore. Finally, a trailer that doesn’t give anything away (except for every major plot detail). I’m sure plenty of people of have either read Stephen King’s novel (not me) or watched De Palma’s film adaptation (me!) but if you don’t fall into either of those categories be warned that this trailer, much like the previously released domestic one, is very revealing. The film centers on a sheltered high school girl who unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after she is pushed too far by her peers.
I am still very much looking forward to the film, mainly for Julianne Moore’s bible verse recitals, and I hope that Peirce has taken this classic horror tale and made it her own. Portia Doubleday, Alex Russell, Gabriella Wilde, and Ansel Elgort also star. Carrie hits theaters October 18th.
A reimagining of the classic horror tale about Carrie White (Chloe Grace Moretz), a shy girl outcast by her peers and sheltered by her deeply religious mother (Julianne Moore), who unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. Based on the best-selling novel by Stephen King, Carrie is directed by Kimberly Peirce with a screenplay by Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.
