Chloe Moretz In Talks to Join Charlize Theron in DARK PLACES
Chloe Moretz is in talks to star alongside Charlize Theron in the film adaptation of Gillian Flynn’s acclaimed thriller DARK PLACES. The story centers on Libby Day, the sole survivor of a massacre in Kinnakee, Kansas, a fictional rural town. After witnessing the murder of her sisters and mother in what appears to be a Satanic cult ritual, she escapes through a window and later testifies in court against her teenaged brother. Twenty-five years after the massacre, Libby meets with a group of amateur investigators who believe that her brother is innocent of the crime. With the group’s support, she begins an investigation of the events of the massacre, tracking down other witnesses and possible suspects.
Moretz would play a character named Diondra, and since I’ve never read the book, I have no idea who that is. Don’t google “Diondra Dark Places” because I already made that mistake. Amy Adams was originally set to star as Libby but was replaced by Theron in February who will also be serving as a producer.
