James Marsden Possibly Returning as Cyclops for ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past; Or He Just Really Loves Montreal Poutine
A journalist from Newsweek spotted James Marsden sitting next to none other than Ms. Halle Berry on his Montreal-bound flight the other day so this really could only mean one of two things: Marsden had a major craving for poutine, or he’s reprising his role as Scott Summers/Cyclops for Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past as filming is still underway in the beautiful Canadian city. (My guess is the former.) Scott/Cyclops seemingly died in Ratner’s masterpiece The Last Stand, but his death was never shown and Singer has already remarked that Days of Future Past will use time-travel to “correct a few things.”
I hope Marsden returns as Cyclops because I really miss watching him cry. First Class “will straddle the 1960s setting established in 2011’s X-Men: First Class and the future of the original trilogy, where mutants are a hunted minority.” Marsden joins James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Hugh Jackman, Ian McKellan, Anna Paquin, Peter Dinklage and Ellen Page. X-Men: Days of Future Past opens July 18, 2014.
