First Footage from OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL Featuring James Franco & Mila Kunis
The boneheads from Entertainment Tonight have brought us the first behind-the-scenes footage from Sam Raimi’s upcoming fantasy film OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. Kunis remarked to the outlet that while the film captures the magic of the original, the new version is darker, more grounded, and will have no singing and dancing. Sam Raimi is shooting the film in Detroit with 28 different sets occupying seven sound stages. The costumes look great and I’m definitely eager to see a teaser. The story revolves around a small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) who finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and Zach Braff co-star. The film is expected to hit theatres March 8, 2013. Thanks ET for your shitty video player!
