Will Smith in Final Talks to Star in Con Man Thriller FOCUS; Kristen Stewart Drops Out
Will Smith is in final negotiations to star in Glenn Ficarra and John Requa’s (Crazy Stupid Love) upcoming con man thriller FOCUS. The film centers on a “veteran con man who gets involved with a newcomer to the grifter business. They get involved romantically but that becomes perilous in a business where they lie and cheat for a living. The complications of the encounter haunt them when they meet up again in the future.”
Kristen Stewart, who has been attached to the project for quite some time, has reportedly dropped out due to the large age gap between her and Smith. The writing/directing duo originally wanted to reunite Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling but both had to decline due to scheduling conflicts. Ben Affleck was also attached to star in the film at one point but dropped out to work on his Boston crime drama “Live By Night.”
