First Trailer for DEADFALL Starring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, and Charlie Hunnam
Totally normal body language for a brother and sister! Magnolia Pictures has released the first trailer for Stefan Ruzowitzky’s upcoming drama/thriller DEADFALL starring Eric Bana, Olivia Wilde, Charlie Hunnam, Kris Kristofferson, and Sissy Spacek. Deadfall, previously titled Kin and Blackbird, is about two desperate sibling fugitives (Bana & Wilde) on the run who subsequently collide with the holiday homecoming of a troubled ex-boxer (Hunham). The trailer is a bit spoiler-heavy and makes the film seem like a run-of-the-mill thriller, but none of that matters because Canada is mentioned! Ruzowitzky previously directed the 2007 foreign-language Oscar winner “The Counterfeiters” and Zach Dean’s script was much buzzed about a few years ago so I’m definitely looking forward to checking this one out. Magnolia is going with a VOD release on Nov 1 and a subsequent theatrical release on Dec 7 (I’ve never been a fan of this route). Trailer via Apple.
Siblings Addison and Liza are on the run from a casino heist gone wrong. When a car accident leaves their wheel man and a state trooper dead, they split up and make a run for the Canadian border in the worst of circumstances a near whiteout blizzard. While Addison heads cross-country, creating mayhem in his wake, Liza is picked up by ex-boxer Jay (Charlie Hunnam), en-route for a Thanksgiving homecoming with his parents, June (Sissy Spacek) and retired sheriff Chet (Kris Kristofferson). It’s there the siblings are reunited in a terse and thrilling showdown that pushes the bonds of family to the limit.
