SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN Tops Box Office With Strong $56.1M Debut
Despite mixed reviews and no added benefit of a 3D premium (thankfully), SNOW WHITE & THE HUNTSMAN topped the domestic box office this weekend with a strong $56.1M. The film also picked up $39.3M in foreign markets for a total global take of $95.4M. Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS doesn’t hit theatres in the US or Canada until next Friday, but it had an impressive opening in several international markets including the UK, Turkey, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Latvia. And finally, this weekend Marvel’s THE AVENGERS became the third highest grossing film both domestically (surpassing TDK) and globally (surpassing Deathly Hallows Part 2) with a staggering worldwide cume of $1,331.3M. Check back for weekend actuals a bit later.
