Sam Smith Confirmed for SPECTRE Theme Song; Track To Be Released September 25
(I was so mesmerized by Sam Smith’s knuckle hairs that it took me a while to notice the SPECTRE symbol on his ring.) So the long-standing rumours are true: Grammy-winning artist Sam Smith has indeed lent his vocals for the new Bond theme song. The track, titled “Writing’s on the Wall,” will be released on September 25.
Adele is a hard act to follow; her Bond theme song SKYFALL sold millions of copies and went on to nab a bunch of awards, including both the Oscar & Golden Globe. She was so fankful to be a part of the film and it seems Smith is equally as proud to contribute to the franchise: “I am so excited to be a part of this iconic British legacy and join an incredible line up of some of my biggest musical inspirations,” he tweeted. “I hope you all enjoy the song as much as I enjoyed making it.”
Sam Mendes’ Spectre will be opening in theatres on November 6. Daniel Craig, Christoph Waltz, Léa Seydoux, Naomie Harris, Ben Whishaw, David Bautista, Monica Bellucci and Ralph Fiennes star.
