First Trailer for Park Chan-wook’s STOKER Starring Nicole Kidman, Matthew Goode, & Mia Wasikowska
A fantastically creepy, beautifully stylized first trailer for Park Chan-wook’s (Oldboy) upcoming horror/family drama film STOKER has been released. After India’s (Mia Wasikowska) father dies in an auto accident, her Uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode), who she never knew existed, comes to live with her and her emotionally unstable mother (Kidman). Soon after his arrival, she comes to suspect this mysterious, charming man has ulterior motives, but instead of feeling outrage or horror, this friendless girl becomes increasingly infatuated with him.
Wentworth Miller’s script landed on the 2010 “Black List,” a list of the best/favorite unproduced scripts in Hollywood that year. It’s a very impressive trailer and I’m really looking forward to this English-feature debut from the critically acclaimed South Korean director. Dermot Mulroney and Jacki Weaver co-star Stoker hits theaters March 1, 2013. Trailer via Apple.
