New Poster for Lee Daniels’ ‘The Butler’ Starring Forest Whitaker
“One quiet voice can ignite a revolution.” A new poster for Lee Daniels’ upcoming period drama The Butler has been released. Inspired by Wil Haygood’s Washington Post article, the film centers on Eugene Allen (Forest Whitaker), an African-American man who served as a butler to eight Presidents in the White House for over thirty years. I’ve attached the film’s incredible first trailer below for those who missed it.
Robin Williams (Dwight Eisenhower), John Cusack (Richard Nixon), James Marsden (John F. Kennedy), Alan Rickman (Ronald Reagan), Minka Kelly (Jackie Kennedy), Alex Pettyfer (Thomas Westfall), Lenny Kravitz (James Holloway), Nelsan Ellis (Martin Luther King Jr.), Liev Schreiber (Lyndon B. Johnson), Melissa Leo (Mamie Eisenhower), and Jane Fonda (Nancy Reagan) co-star. The Butler opens on October 18th and will most likely hit the festival circuit in the fall.
