Chris Pratt Lands Lead Role In Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY
Chris Pratt (Parks & Rec, Zero Dark Thirty) has reportedly landed the lead role of Peter Quill/Star-Lord in James Gunn’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. Marvel considered actors Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Lee Pace, Eddie Redmayne, and Zachary Levi before casting Pratt. The film is based on the comics of the same name which began in 1969 and focuses on a team of superhumans and extraterrestrials dedicated to the safeguarding of the Milky Way Galaxy.
Peter Quill, a.k.a, Star-Lord, is the leader of The Guardians of the Galaxy. (Andy Dwyer is a natural leader so this is the perfect role for him.) I really like Pratt as an actor and he showcased his versatility with supporting roles in Moneyball and most recently Zero Dark Thirty. He plays a loveable goof to perfection but I think he’ll be great here as well. Guardians of the Galaxy is expected to hit theaters August 1, 2014.
