First Trailer and Poster for DISCONNECT Starring Jason Bateman, Frank Grillo & Paula Patton
The first trailer and poster for Henry Alex Rubin’s internet drama “Disconnect” has been released. I caught the film last September at the Toronto International Film Festival and enjoyed it for the most part but with quite a few reservations. It’s really well-acted and all three storylines are compelling and timely (especially the one involving Bateman), but it loses some points in the third act when it doesn’t deliver the intended emotional punch it was building up to (and the horrible slow-motion shots didn’t exactly help).
Hope Davis, Michael Nyqvist, Paula Patton, Andrea Riseborough, Alexander Skarsgard, and Max Thieriot also star. Disconnect opens in limited release on April 12th.
A hard-working lawyer, attached to his cell phone, can’t find the time to communicate with his family. A couple is drawn into a dangerous situation when their secrets are exposed online. A widowed ex-cop struggles to raise a mischievous son who cyber-bullies a classmate. An ambitious journalist sees a career-making story in a teen that performs on an adult-only site. They are strangers, neighbors and colleagues and their stories collide in this riveting dramatic thriller about ordinary people struggling to connect in today’s wired world.
