Whatever the hell that is! Here’s the first clip from Justin Kurzel’s (Macbeth) upcoming Assassin’s Creed film. Based on Ubisoft’s popular video game franchise of the same name, the film centers on Callum Lynch (an original character not found in any of the game’s storylines) who “discovers he is a descendant of the secret Assassins society through unlocked genetic memories that allow him to relive the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain.”
Expectations for Assassin’s Creed are quite high, given how successful and acclaimed most video game adaptations have been in the recent past. Brendan Gleeson, Marion Cotillard, Michael Kenneth Williams, and Ariane Labed also star. Assassin’s Creed opens in theatres December 21, 2016.
