First Look at Chloe Moretz & Julianne Moore in CARRIE Remake
Here’s our first official look at Chloe Moretz & Julianne Moore in Kimberly Peirce’s (Stop-Loss) new adaptation of Stephen King’s CARRIE. The film centers on a sheltered high school girl (Moretz) who unleashes her newly developed telekinetic powers after she is pushed too far by her peers. I once looked like Carrie when I fell down the stairs with a full glass of raspberry juice and it ended up all over my face and body. Did I mention my parents had just put in brand new carpets? (They still love me.) Although I absolutely love the original, I find myself oddly looking forward to this remake. Moretz and Moore are great and I guess it’s nice that the story will be introduced to a new audience.
Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa provides the screenplay. He is a writer and producer on that horror TV show called GLEE, so this seems like a natural transition for him ….Carrie hits theaters on March 13, 2013. Images courtesy of Ewwwwww.com
Julianne Moore on her religious nut-bag character Margaret White:
“This woman has clearly had a psychotic break, perhaps several. But what’s sad about it for me is that she’s clearly sick and here’s this poor child in the thrall of this person who is seriously ill. And on top of that, they have this mother-daughter relationship. So we want to make that relationship as meaningful as possible, even though it is horrible and destructive.”
