First Trailer and Poster for Chernobyl Diaries
Dobre den everyone! We have the first trailer and poster for the horror flick Chernobyl Diaries produced by Oren Peli (Paranormal Activity). The film follows a group of six young tourists who, looking to go off the beaten path, hire an “extreme tour” guide. They’re taken to the city of Pripyat, the former home to the workers of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor and soon find out that they’re not alone.
I’m half Uki so color me intrigued by the set-up, but I didn’t find the trailer to be all that compelling. Peli’s Paranormal Activity failed to elicit a single scare out of me (I should mention this is coming from a person who ran out of Beauty and the Beast) and director Bradley Parker seems to be favouring the excessive handheld style even though this isn’t a found-footage flick (thankfully). These gripes aside, I’m still intrigued by the premise and it’s always nice to see a film with an original story. Jesse “I don’t want another pretty face” McCartney stars alongside Jonathan Sadowski, Devin Kelley, Nathan Phillips, Ingrid Bolso Berdal, Dimitry Diatchenko and Olivia Taylor Dudley. The film hits theatres on May 25. Thanks to Apple for the trailer.
