First Trailer for Sam Raimi’s OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL
From the director of the Spider-Man Trilogy and the producer of “Who Gives a Shit” comes the first trailer for OZ: THE GREAT AND POWERFUL. A prequel to the 1939 classic Wizard of Oz, the Sam Raimi-directed flick revolves around a small-time magician Oscar Diggs (James Franco) who finds himself hurled into the fantastical Land of Oz where he must somehow transform himself into the great and powerful Wizard—and just maybe into a better man as well. I was nicely surprised by the trailer and while the film is CGI-heavy, Oz looks absolutely stunning. I’m very much looking forward to this one. Then again, I’d be excited for any film that involves the producer of Alice in Wonderland! You know, that mediocre movie with horrendous post-converted 3D? Universal used it as a selling point for Snow White & the Huntsman but this is just getting out of hand. Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, and Zach Braff co-star. The film is expected to hit theatres March 8, 2013. Trailer courtesy of Apple.
