First Look at Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen in THE BUTLER
Here’s our first official look at Forest Whitaker as Eugene Allen, the White House servant who worked for eight First families, in Lee Daniels’ upcoming drama THE BUTLER. The film is based on Wil Haygood’s 2008 Washington Post article about Allen (then why didn’t they get this exclusive? How rude!) and is currently being shot in New Orleans.
Robin Williams (Dwight Eisenhower), John Cusack (Richard Nixon), James Marsden (John F. Kennedy), Alan Rickman (Ronald Reagan), Minka Kelly (Jackie Kennedy), Alex Pettyfer (Thomas Westfall), Lenny Kravitz (James Holloway), Nelsan Ellis (Martin Luther King Jr.), Liev Schreiber (Lyndon B. Johnson), Melissa Leo (Mamie Eisenhower), and Jane Fonda (Nancy Reagan) co-star.
What an absolutely fantastic oh no Cuba Gooding Jr. is in it. Fingers-crossed it’s as good as The Paperboy! All kidding aside, it seems like an incredibly compelling story and I’m sure we’re in for some great performances. Thanks to Variety for the image.
